J-pile

Over in the mini-junkyard at Gold Coast Railroad Museum was this pile if J-shaped pieces of metal. No idea what they were used for or how long they've been there. My guess is it's train related...

The maintenance office door at the bottom of a solid brick windowless building on the museum grounds.

Several school groups visit the train yard throughout the year. Lindsey & Jeremy among them.

Dad @ Gold Coast Railroad Museum

While visiting my Dad in S. Florida, we stopped by the Gold Coast Railroad Museum in Miami looking for interesting subjects to shoot. I took lots of pictures of the different trains and also tried to get a few shots of my Dad (also a photog).  Temperatures were in the upper 90's and we stayed out there for about an hour or whenever our water ran out.  

Lots of interesting old trains, plus what appeared to be an equipment dump for old outdated railway equipment. Check out that old gas pump:

 The air conditioned visitor center was a welcome relief after being out there for an hour. It's a really big train yard and there's no way I could see it all in an hour. Definitely need to return next time I'm down that way.
