4th of July Unicycle Guy

It's Independence Day, and it can only mean one thing...a guy on a unicycle makes his early-morning flag-waiving ride through several McKinney, TX neighborhoods.

Brandishing his patriotic, sleeveless and stained-with-paint "America 76" t-shirt, he cruises the suburban sidewalks of McKinney, mostly ignoring the honking motorists and waving spectators. Headphones around his neck instead of on his ears, maybe he's realized the dangers of riding a unicycle without hearing the traffic around him.

He struggles to maintain his balance as he moves both flags to one hand and uses his right to keep control. His straw hat has a dual purpose: protector from the harsh TX sun and holder of 2 additional flags (you can see them if you look closely).

It's his way of showing his patriotism. To some, it was a slightly odd sight in this town...unicycles aren't very common...and yet he cared not one bit. His smile says it all...and that wasn't because he's looking directly at the camera. He was truly enjoying himself.
