1000 Words in a Second?

If a picture is worth 1000 words, why is it that most people will only look at it for a second?

These days, the amount of time one takes to look at a picture depends on how quickly they can click the mouse. 1-2 times per second is the average if the photo loads quickly. How can you process a photo that quickly?

Our eyes are getting too used to having large amounts of data thrown at them every second while we're on line. We're looking for something that catches our interest, and everything we look at has about one second to do it. Photos are no different. People click through photo pages so quickly that it's virtually impossible to see or read anything. Photos tell stories, and unfortunately the media has us trained to only pay attention to what is attractive, flashy and in motion. Still photos don't move, but they do speak. Try listening when you can.
