Using Pandora to Listen to Photos

One more post about putting music to photographs (or vice versa)...

This is probably old news to many folks, but there's a service called Pandora that allows you to create your very own internet radio station. It's free as long as you don't mind listening to an occasional ad.

All you need to do is type in an artist, song, genre, etc and Pandora builds a station suited to your taste. If you hear something you don't like you can skip it and Pandora will remember not to play that one again. It's also great for sampling genres of music you may be unfamiliar with.

Lately I've been making my own playlists by typing in a genre i.e. "string quartet" and listening to what Pandora suggests. Looking at photographs while listening is a great way to pick up slight shifts on how you feel about a particular photo. Maybe it is or isn't quite right for the portfolio I'm building. Pandora can be great entertainment as well as a worthwhile tool. Try it out if you haven't yet.
