Music & Photography (part 2)

While I'm deciding what photos I should include in a portfolio, playing music while watching them in slideshow form has been invaluable in helping to narrow down the selection and running order. Although I haven't found the "perfect song" to compliment a slide show of choice shots, trying out different musical styles helps me to look at each photo differently, helping to narrow down my choices for the portfolio.
When creating portraits in the studio I usually ask the subject what type of music they'd like to hear. In the photo above, classical was the choice, and in some ways you can tell. I'm not sure the same classical piece would be fitting in musically describing all of the portraits I plan on including. It may not even describe this one, even though it was playing when the photo was taken. This is when it helps to explore different genres of music to see if what flows with the pictures.
