Peculiarities Of Downtown McKinney

There are lots of interesting things to photograph in downtown McKinney, TX. Every photographer in Collin County has done at least one session there. There are lots of old buildings and signs, events that bring out crowds of people, concerts, festivals...
All that stuff gets photographed over and over and over. I've done it and so has everyone else. So, I thought I'd take a slightly different approach when I went out to play with my new lens.
I took a walk through downtown and looked for things that wouldn't necessarily catch my attention right away. I started to find things that may be a bit strange, out of place or just interesting in a weird way. Every town and every neighborhood has things that may seem a bit odd. I picked downtown McKinney just because I like it. It could've been anywhere.
Like a "closed" sign above hanging on a store door spelled out in scrabble pieces. Nine points!
Or this rather elaborate way to water weeds behind an antique mall.
And also the unexploded bomb sitting outside of Collin County Weed & Feed:

Cool! I'm down there practically every chance I get and I have never noticed any of those (although I wouldn't notice the PVC pipe, seems like I would have noticed the closed sign). Thanks
Not even the BOMB??
Thanks for the comments and I've enjoyed reading your blog: On The Square
There's plenty of strange stuff. I'll be going back for more...
Thanks for the plug! :)
Amazingly, I've never noticed the bomb before. Honestly, I don't know that I would have realized that was what it was. I would have thought "rocket" if I'd seen it. One of the things I love about downtown is that I am constantly finding something I've never seen before or am seeing something in a new way. I look forward to more photos!
