Bombs & Graffiti

Last week after I posted a picture of the unexploded bomb in front of Collin County Weed & Feed in Downtown McKinney, Beth from the On The Square blog posted a pic of a an eagle dropping bombs painted on the side of Smitten also in downtown McKinney.  I thought it was hilarious that bombs seemed to be a recurring theme in the downtown area, so I visited the square early one morning to get my own picture and to look for more strange things to photograph.

It's stenciled in black paint. There must be a logical explanation as to why it's even there as it doesn't appear to be just random graffiti.

My search for the unusual turned into a search for more wall drawings and /or graffiti. I soon spotted this down a back alley.

Again,  not random graffiti. Someone took the time to paint this.

Unfortunately, I couldn't say the same about these artistic statements nearby:

Downtown McKinney is certainly not known for the amount of graffiti you can find and it's usually gone as soon as it goes up. I guess I happened to be there at the right time.

Down another alley I spotted this:

Much of the writing appears to have been carved into the cement, so it's not likely this can be removed without some major filling-in. I never noticed this before and it's probably because there's nothing brightly colored on this wall. It could potentially make a good background for a session where someone requests a wall of graffiti in the background. That's assuming you're willing to clone out all of the f-bombs.

Somebody really loves Mitch!

I thought that looked awfully intentional too. I LOVE the red flower pot. I hadn't seen that. I even kind of like the sunflower. Kudos on the cool finds!

you always manage to find the cool eclectic stuff........ that would be a good background with all the graffiti carved into the cement provided some editing was done!!

Editing usually mandatory when photographing "real" graffiti. I've seen plenty of fake graffiti backgrounds and you can usually tell they're fake.
